2.4.2014
The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers to beware of calls coming through your cell phone caller ID as Unknown. You should also not return calls to Unknown. It’s called “The One Ring Scam” as part of a practice called phone cramming. Victims are subsequently billed not only for the incoming international call if they answer, but also the unwanted “premium service,” which typically appears as a $19.95 charge. In some cases, crammers may only put a small charge of several dollars, so as not to arouse suspicion. Learn more about this here.

Beware of the CryptoLocker Virus!
12.9.2013
A new computer virus is hitting hard. It presents itself as a tracking number for FexEx or UPS as an attachment to an e-mail. DO NOT OPEN this unless you are sure it is legitimate. Typically a tracking number is a link, not an attachment, and that should be a tip off. If you open the attachment it will immediately go to work on your PC and lock up all of your files and then hold your files "ransom" asking you to pay a fee in order to be unlocked (this virus is also being called RansomWare). Because this virus is new and spreading so quickly, virus protection software is not preventing it. To protect your PC, you should BACK UP all of your files so that if you catch the virus and your files are locked, you can take your back up files to a different computer. Once you have the virus, your computer and files are completely locked up and you will not be able to use the computer again. Please be cautious especially during this busy season of online shopping.
