Union Bank Appoints Omar Cuevas to Board of Directors

Grand Rapids, Michigan – September 27, 2024 - Union Bank is thrilled to announce the addition of new Board Member, Omar Cuevas. Cuevas is the Senior Vice-President of Investor and Corporate Relations for the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce. As a strategic leader, he provides oversight for revenue generation, impactful community engagement, strategic partnerships, program management and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts.

Cuevas brings over 20 years of experience driving revenue and fostering inclusive growth to his new role as Board Member. Before his career with the Chamber, he spent 18 years in the financial industry, strengthening his ability to create sustainable growth strategies. His passion for inclusion is evident by his vital role in the launch of community programs such as the Center for Economic Inclusion and leading initiatives to benefit Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and New American Communities.

Cuevas is a proud, involved member of the Grand Rapids community where he resides with his family. Today, he is a member of the Grand Rapids Promise Zone Authority Board of Directors, Convention and Arena Authority Community Inclusion Board of Directors, City of Grand Rapids Local Officer Compensation Committee, and Association of Chamber of Executives Board of Directors.
