Introducing New Union Bank Debit Cards with Tap-to-Pay Technology

We're excited to introduce a new look for Union Bank debit cards along with the convenience of tap-to-pay contactless technology.

November 2026

Beginning November 2, 2026, newly issued Union Bank debit cards will feature updated card designs and contactless payment capabilities, making everyday purchases faster, easier and more secure.

Whether you're shopping locally, fueling up on the go or making purchases while traveling, your new Union Bank debit card provides a convenient and secure payment experience.

New Debit Card Designs

Union Bank has refreshed the design of our debit card portfolio. The new designs reflect a modern look while maintaining the reliability and security you expect from Union Bank.

The Benefits of Tap-to-Pay

  • Fast and Convenient - With tap-to-pay technology, there's no need to insert your card into a reader for most purchases. Simply tap your card near the payment terminal and your transaction is processed in seconds.
  • Secure Payments - Tap-to-pay transactions use advanced security technology to help protect your information. Each transaction includes unique encrypted data, helping reduce the risk of fraud while allowing you to keep your card in your hand throughout the purchase.
  • Accepted at Millions of Locations - Contactless payments are accepted at retailers, restaurants, gas stations, pharmacies and countless other businesses around the world. Simply look for the contactless symbol when checking out.

How to Use Tap-to-Pay

Using your new contactless debit card is easy:

  1. Look for the contactless payment symbol on the checkout terminal.
  2. Tap your card near the symbol.
  3. Wait for the confirmation message, beep, or checkmark.

 That's it.

If a merchant does not accept contactless payments, your card can still be used by inserting the chip or swiping the card where applicable.
