Union Bank Announces Robert Kowalewski as VP, Director of Business Development

Grand Rapids, Michigan – October 5, 2021 – Tim Doyle, Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer of Union Bank has announced the addition of Robert Kowalewski, Vice President, Director of Business Development. In his new role, Kowalewski will focus on strategic initiatives that will continue to help support and build the Banks’ brand in the various markets Union Bank serves.  This focus will include, but is not limited to, helping the Bank grow many facets of the business to include commercial, retail, consumer and mortgage, investments and treasury management.   Kowalewski will play a crucial role in ensuring the makers, builders and growers of West and Central Michigan and the hard-working individuals who work for them are equipped with the tools necessary to achieve maximum success.

Kowalewski joins the organization with over 30 years of diverse business development and finance experience in the Greater Grand Rapids Area.  He earned his undergraduate degree from the Kramer School of Management at Purdue University and graduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with Honors. Kowalewski is an innovative strategic leader with local knowledge and a true understanding for the needs of Michigan businesses and the communities they serve. He is a current member of the East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation Board of Directors and Grants Committee and a proud member of the East Grand Rapids community where he resides with his wife Julie and three children.
