Union Bank Core Conversion to Occur July 29 - August 1

Lake Odessa, MI - July 21, 2022 - Union Bank is committed to providing quality products and exceptional service to the makers, builders and growers of West and Central Michigan. In an effort to improve and expand the products and services offered, the Bank will upgrade its core banking system and other associated products Friday, July 29 through Monday, August 1. The conversion will begin after the nightly processing completes on Friday, July 29. 

The core system is the software that executes major banking functions, such as: opening and managing accounts, originating and servicing loans, processing cash deposits and withdrawals, posting transactions, calculating interest, maintaining customer information and more. 

What to Expect During the Conversion: July 29 – August 1

Here is what Union Bank customers can expect during the core conversion period.  

  • All Union Bank locations will be closed Saturday, July 30.
    • Customers in need of cash/change for the weekend, please pickup cash/change orders by 4:00 PM on Friday, July 29.
  • The Banks Digital Banking Suite (online and mobile banking), telephone banking and Virtual Branch will be unavailable from 6:00 PM Friday, July 29 to 9:00 PM Sunday, July 31.
  • Debit Cards – Customers needing cash or to make a deposit while the Bank is closed, can locate the nearest Union Bank ATM at ubmich.com/locations. Please note:  There will be a brief service interruption on the morning of Monday, August 1 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.  If additional service interruptions occur outside of this time frame and bank balances cannot be verified, then debit cards will function with default (stand-in) limits - $210 for withdrawal and $500 for point-of-sale purchases.  
    • On Monday, the Banks debit card system will be switched over to the new system.
      • All transactions that were authorized over the weekend will be loaded into the new system on Monday.
      • Transactions will post to the customer’s account and affect their balances during the Banks next nightly processing which will be the night of Monday, August 1st; however, transactions will not be visible as pending transactions or affect the available balance on Monday during regular business hours.
  • Business Customers using Cash Management, Remote Deposit Capture, ACH and Wires
    • Digital Banking Suite, Cash Management and Remote Deposit Capture will not be available between 6:00 PM on Friday, July 29th and 9:00 PM on Sunday, July 31.
    • Any ACH files posted after 12:00 PM on Friday, July 29th will not be cleared until after 12:00 PM on Monday, August 1st.
    • All wires must be submitted before 12:00 PM on Friday, July 29th.
  • The lobby of the Corporate Office at 933 Fourth Avenue in Lake Odessa will be closed August 1st through August 5th to allow team members to focus on the post-conversion process.
